چکیده
ABSTRACT In this paper, we describe our proposed adaptive deficit-based scheduler for IEEE 802.16e networks working in TDD mode. The scheduler comprised of deficit-based priority queue with adaptive quantum to support variable rate data in both downlink and uplink directions. A Minimum Tolerable Traffic Rate, a QoS parameter defined by the standard is used to guarantee minimum service provided to subscriber stations. The fairness discipline will be exercised when request are more than network resources. The simulation shows that our proposed scheduler can fairly serve a combination of traffic with various requirements even in high load condition.

The computer industry has defined the IEEE 802.16 family of standards that will enable mobile devices to access a broadband network as an alternative to digital subscriber line technology. As the mobile devices join and leave a network, security measures must be taken to ensure the safety of the network against unauthorized usage by encryption and group key management. IEEE 802.16e uses Multica...

Admission control schemes and scheduling algorithms are designed to offer QoS services in 802.16/802.16e networks and a number of studies have investigated these issues. But the channel condition and priority of traffic classes are very rarely considered in the existing scheduling algorithms. Although a number of energy saving mechanisms have been proposed for the IEEE 802.16e, to minimize the ...
متن کاملEfficient resource allocation for emerging OFDMA wireless networks
In the context of IEEE 802.16e networks, physical transmission relies on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA). This mechanism defines resource allocation as a bi-dimensional mapping of spectral resources. Although in the IEEE 802.16e standard the Medium Access Control (MAC) and physical (PHY) layers are well defined, the problem of resource allocation still remains an open issu...
